Opposite the Universal Call to Holiness Window we find a representation of the saints who have walked on the soil of America. They are gathered around Our Lady of Guadalupe, the patron of the Americas. This is a powerful reminder to all of us that we too are all called to be saints. The grouping represents a sampling of women and men who were born here in the Americas - Saints Elizabeth Ann Seton, Juan Diego, Martin dePorres, Kateri Tekakwitha, and those who came as missionaries to bring the faith to the new land-Mother Cabrini from Italy, John Neumann from Germany, and Isaac Jouges from France. The image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, rich in symbolism from the book of Revelation [Revelation 12:1-2) is framed by angels dropping roses. The roses are gathered in Juan Diego's tilma [or cloak], which is a part of the story of Our Lady of Guadalupe. May we like the saints shown here live in keeping with our life calling, however imperfectly, in full faith.
